20è Exposition "Printemps de l'Aquarelle", 20th Exhibition (BEL)

En 2011, Les Printemps de l'Aquarelle de Libramont célèbraient leur 20è anniversaire. A cette occasion, l'exposition, qui fermait ses portes ce lundi 13 juin, était centrée sur le thème de la fête. J'ai souhaité partager un souvenir d'enfance de la fête foraine et ai donc choisi de représenter l'une de mes attractions favorites de l'époque : la pêche aux canards !

This year, the international salon Watercolour Springs of Libramont celebrated its 20th anniversary. At this occasion, the exhibition, that closed its doors on 13 June, was centered on the "celebration" theme. I wanted to share my children memories of the fun fair and chose to depict one of my favourite attractions : the fishing for ducks !

L'exposition a réuni 37 artistes venus de Belgique, France et du Grand-Duché du Luxembourg, ainsi qu'un invité d'honneur : l'aquarelliste anversois Xavier Swolfs. Au total, plus de 70 oeuvres étaient présentées au public. A l'occasion de cette exposition-anniversaire, un catalogue illustré présentait chaque aquarelliste ainsi que l'une des oeuvres sélectionnées accompagnée du commentaire émis par le jury de sélection. The exhibition gathered 37 watercolour artists from Belgium, France and Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and one guest of honour : Xavier Swolfs. More than 70 artworks where shown on exhibit. For this celebrating show, a fully illustrated catalogue presented each watercolour artist as well as one of his selected artworks accompanied by the comments of the jury. Above is an excerpt.
