Salon d'Aquarelle - Watercolour Salon, Larissa (Grèce - Greece)

Le Salon d'Aquarelle organisé par George Politis se déroule du 14 avril au 19 mai au Musée G.I. Katsigras, Galerie d'Art Municipale de Larissa, en Grèce. L'événement rassemble les oeuvres de 48 artistes venus des quatre coins du monde et présente une quantité impressionnante d'approches, de techniques et de styles picturaux. Le vernissage aura lieu le 14 avril à 19h30. Voici une photo de mon ami George avec "A Lady in Red", l'aquarelle que je propose pour le salon.

Le Musée G.I. Katsigras est l'une des galeries d'art les plus importantes du pays. Il a été fondé par le chirurgien natif de Larissa, Georgios I. Katsigras, qui était également un peintre amateur et le Maire de la ville. Katsigras collectionnait les timbres, livres, photographies et apoursuivi sa passion une fois adulte en réunissant une collection significative de peintres grecques. Celles-ci sont désormais exposées dans deux halls du bâtiment qui mesure 10.000m², alors que les deux autres halls accueillent des expositions temporaires.

The Watercolour Salon, organized by George Politis runs from 14 April until 19 May at the G.I. Katsigras Museum, Municipal Art Gallery of Larissa, in Greece. The event gathers paintings from 48 artists coming from all around the world and it showcases an extensive range of different painting styles, methods and approaches. The Opening Ceremony will take place on 14 April at 7.30 pm. Here is a picture of my friend George with "A Lady in Red", the painting that I present for the salon.

The G.I. Katsigras Museum is one of the most important gallery museums in Greece. It was founded by Larissa-born surgeon Georgios I. Katsigras, who was also an amateur painter and the Mayor of the city. Katsigras used to collect stamps, books and photographs and as an adult he went on to build up a significant collection of Greek paintings, now displayed in two halls of the 10.000m² building, while the two others halls are reserved for temporary exhibitions.
