First personal exhibition announced for 2008.
Following the international Fine Arts competition "Le Grand Prix International de Wallonie" (in Belgium), I received a proposition to attend to a first personal exhibition (former exhibitions were always collective), in an Art Gallery, from September 2007. But I already have a lot of works in progress, preparing a lot of Arts exhibitions and competitions, and I have to postpone this projet until the spring 2008.
The rules of the next competitions in which I will participate are very strict. Even if I would like to, I will not be able to show you some of my recent watercolours before these competitions have taken place. So, I will add pictures of others works, drawings, pastels, ... in the Art Gallery album, maybe slower than usual, and I'll continue to write about painters, watercolour, movies, England, ...
Thank you for showing constant support, for the time you spend to read these lines and for your kindness.
The number of international readers is become quite important now, so I'll try to write a lot of articles in French and English (Well, the best way as I'm able to).

Welcome to this website
The author in a few words...
The Belgian artist was born in 1981. Impassionated art since childood, she began to paint and became a member of the ALIP Studio (Atelier Libre de Peinture, Manage, Belgium) when she reached the age of 13. Her early inspirations were finest painters such as the masters of Renaissance. Then, she discovered more contemporary artists ... Quickly, her detailed and nuanced paintings suggested a taste for photo-realism. Through the years, her style and technique grew. Seven years later, she decided to make her own way and attended to a lot of competitions and exhibitions in her country.
Catherine DE RYCK works from photos but also from memories, imagination and impressions, ... from, just as she says : "All this little things which, when they are combined, make a Something." Her taste for precision also comes from a passion for detail, a unbounded observation of her subject until the nearest ressemblance, a wish to win a challenge at everytime she begins a new painting. But she doesn't think that she is a hyper-realistic painter because the necessary technical control seems, to her opinion, to remove any form of free expression.
The artist, who works with oil colours, pastels, watercoulours, gouache, acrylic, pencils, charcoals, (see the albums ART GALLERY and CROQUIS)..., attends to some exhibitions in Belgium since 1994 and has won a lot of International Golden Awards in different art-techniques.
This website allows me to show my artworks but also to share my inspirations and art or movie reviews with you, my readers. For more information, don't hesitate to contact me.
