Illustration Friday - Colin Firth
My entry for this week Illustration Friday's topic is this portrait of Colin Firth. As an artist, I am always looking for expressive faces, from joy to sadness. And a good source of inspiration, a good way to train your ability to produce resemblance, is to work on famous figures. This is how I discovered this talented British actor, his career and caritative work.
To illustrate the "leap", I wanted to show a state of mind, and not the word in its literal sense. To face each obstacle, we need to leap. And, before, we need to do an introspection : a mental self-observation reporting of conscious inner thoughts, desires and sensations. We need to think, we need to know if we are inspired to jump ...

Mon projet pour le sujet d'Illustration Friday de cette semaine est ce portrait de Colin Firth. En tant qu'artiste, je suis sans cesse à la recherche de visages expressifs, qu'ils soient empreints de joie ou de tristesse. Et une excellente source d'inspiration, l'une des meilleures façons d'exercer sa propre capacité à produire la ressemblance, est de travailler sur des personnages plus ou moins célèbres. Voilà comment j'ai découvert ce talentueux acteur britannique, sa carrière et ses actions caritatives.
Afin d'illustrer le thème du "bond", je souhaitais représenter un état d'esprit, et non ce mot au sens propre. Pour affronter un obstacle, chacun éprouve le besoin d'effectuer un bond, une introspection : une observation mentale sur lui-même, qui vise à décrire ses pensées, sensations, désirs conscients et intimes.
